Carroll Shelby’s New Oil Comes From Olives. and FLEXTEC hoses offers car miniatures for Christmas

Carroll Shelby-branded olive oil will hit supermarket shelves in the next couple of months.
Paul Newman’s label, Newman’s Own, produces an organic olive oil made from Tuscan olives. Lee A. Iacocca, the former Chrysler chief executive, has a line of spreadable olive oil. And soon Carroll Shelby will be joining them on supermarket shelves.
Mr. Shelby has never been shy about his achievements as a racecar driver or as a merchandiser. As we reported earlier this year, the creator of the Shelby Mustang and the Cobra sports cars has licensed his name and image to a slew of products, including cuff links, action figures and golf bags. Earlier this year, he became partners with IDEA Foods of Doylestown, Pa., to create Shelby Signature Foods.
Carroll Shelby extra virgin olive oil will appear in specialty retail markets in the next couple of months, and part of the proceeds will go to charity, according to a statement from Mr. Shelby. “Our goal at Shelby Signature Foods is to offer products that are best in class, offer important health benefits and taste great,” said Mr. Shelby, who also recently introduced a 475-horsepower F-150 Super Snake at the Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show in Las Vegas. “We’re working with other companies to brand additional Shelby foods to market in the near future.”
It’s not Mr. Shelby’s first brush with food. He lent his name to a chili mix in the 1960s and helped start the Chili’s restaurant chain. And before he became a professional driver in the 1950s, he raised chickens in Texas.
